Nasir Bartley PB2A: Parts 3-5

Part 3: Turn your curiosities into questions: formulate 3-5 research questions. What might you like to investigate?
  1. How can robots assist humans in designing more efficient automobiles?
  2. How will automotive robotics impact the Industry?
  3. What are some possible dangers in robots taking jobs away from humans in the world?
Part 4: Suppose you wanted to find scholarly articles about these ideas using the library’s online database: what disciplinary keywords (i.e., search terms) could you use? List 5-10 keywords that could facilitate your search.
  1. Mechanical Engineering
  2. Automotive
  3. Design
  4. Robotics
  5. 3D Modeling
Part 5: Pinpoint 5 different scholarly journal articles about your topic(s). You don’t need to read any of them yet. Instead, simply provide a citation for each piece according to the formatting expectations of that discipline (MLA, APA, Chicago Style, etc.). Note: you’ll have to do some light background research to find out what citation style this major/discipline typically uses and how to format it appropriately. We’ll brainstorm some resources together that can help you do that.
  1. Improving robotic machining accuracy through experimental error investigation and modular compensation(ASME)
  2. Improving digital human modelling for proactive ergonomics in design(ASME)
  3. Impedance control of robots using voltage control strategy(ASME)
  4. Robotics, Virtual Reality, and Agents and their Body: A Special Issue in Memory of Marco Somalvico(APA 6th Edition)
  5. Relevance of Assembly in Global Manufacturing(ASME)

  1. I like your third question about robots taking jobs a lot. You could get really specific with that, like what types of jobs specifically or the social impacts of improving robots mechanically.
