PB1A: What Makes a Parking Ticket a Parking Ticket???

Parking tickets is definitely a textual genre that was not discussed in class that I am familiar with. The main audience of this textual genre will be people that park in the wrong spots or people that even just park in a certain spot for too long or even somewhere at the wrong time. This is how a parking ticket looks. It is the worst feeling, this thing can have your day go from great to terrible. This parking ticket does not go for a particular population of people so this is willing to be given to anyone that runs into this situation. The purpose of this ticket is to be consequential those who break the law and regulations of parking such as overdue in time paid for parking, parking in handicap spots when you’re not handicap, or even parking in no parking places. In the context it will have payment fees on there that have to be paid by a certain time. Sometimes it can lead to jail time if the ticket is way too overdue(way past the payment). The paper is usually put onto the front of your car tucked into the hood of the car so the driver will be able to easily notice the ticket as he or she is walking towards his or her car. The style of the ticket is just a long white slip, flashy enough to catch the driver’s attention when he or she is heading back to their car. The tone of the situation of getting a ticket itself is either very angry tones or sad tones, neither tone in this ticket situation is a good one at all. A fight can even break out from getting a ticket if it is given to the right maniac. Now here is the genre question I have to ask myself is “What makes a parking ticket, a parking ticket?” very difficult question to answer pretty much? What makes a parking ticket a parking ticket is that energy that it brings after it is seen. You will know when someone has a parking ticket. Parking tickets can be very stressful at points as far as money management or age. If you are a young driver then that can look bad for you as a driver. A young crazy driver, that is also a maniac, will definitely not make a good match when it comes to a parking ticket. That person may not be able to drive again for a long time. Now that mostly everything is covered with parking tickets so far, is it a good thing to get a parking ticket? We all know it is not a good thing, everyone is not going to be stressed about it either because some people can own up to their mistakes. Ways to not get a parking ticket is simply following and not breaking the law or regulations of parking regardless of what you are going through.

How Do I Annotate?

The different kinds of annotations I did were underlining and giving thoughts on the bold sentences that stood out on the paper than the actual text, and underlined some things in the text that seemed more repetitive so I will know that it is something important to process in my mind. If I can categorized the annotations I did, it will be 1) bold quotes on the side of the text, 2) repetitive information in the passage 3) anything on the paper that indicates a rhetorical device so I can understand what the writer is trying to tell their readers. Alyssa highlights both concepts of the writing and jots down info on the differences of the concepts. Mashur puts bullet points on things that are important, brackets stuff that he can get something out of as far as learning.

About Me

Hello! How is everyone doing? My name is Nasir Bartley. I am eighteen years old, five foot five inches tall, and African American. Music and sports are the best things that happened in my life...well more of music. Playing sports for a while eventually got me into a severe injury I have never thought I would experience in life, but music was always something that made me feel better. Music is one of the greatest ways to let out your emotion and to send a message out to others helping them get through stress or even having them relax. Never thought I would eventually start to make my own music until earlier this year. Oh yeah, and I’m vegan.
