Music generator(additional generator): http://tones.wolfram.com/generate/G1wjIarQaGKwyJyHruILFErlnV347uXjpVlPUAKoXCMo3
After viewing these genres including the one I additionally put to the genre navigator list, I learned that there were a whole variety of conventions just for a simple genre. The genre generator I added was a music generator. This music generator even had snippet tones for each convention so not only that you can see what each convention is, but you can also hear the snippet tone. There were all types such as classical, piano, hip hop, r&b, jazz, country, etc… This is great for the music concept because when it comes to music, you have to hear something to make a choice in what type of music you like especially if you haven’t heard that type of music before.
The comic generator was pretty dope. You were able to type in any convention you like and it automatically generates a full comic strip for you. You don’t even have to think too hard on the convention, you can even say something like “well that escalated quickly.” And it generates a comic strip that talks about a goofy situation that escalated quickly. This is great for comic people because you can get a laugh out of playing around with the generators and it can even give the viewer an idea of what they would want in a full comic they would probably want to create one day. The meme generator is very well organized. It starts you off on the website with the most popular memes generated. This is a great concept on the website because when people are looking for good memes, the popular memes is what people look for so to see that there is a variety of popular memes is what is going to keep the viewers stuck on the website. And of course there is other conventions to look up. You can even search for your own convention in the search box. This meme generator opens up so many ideas for people to find the best level of their satisfaction. The SCIgen generator is a very helpful generator for viewers that needs help with writing a paper. There’s multiple text boxes labeled “Author’s name” so it can generate a full paper with a lot of author’s styles combined. This brings creativity to someone that wants to write a paper and even help them enhance their personality in writing so they can develop their own style.
There is a lot happening in these genre generators. Many differences were stated previously but if there was some similarities I can point out, it will be that they had a very flexible search engine. The generators barely got to a point where you would type something in a search engine, if it had one, and would say “No Results Were Found” for example. Generators also had so many varieties of conventions that it did not even need a search engine. The genre generators also sometimes could attack a vulnerable population. That type of population can be people that are not that creative depending on what generator you are using or even people that just cannot think at the moment. Now the question to be asked is “how can thinking about what’s happening in these websites help someone better understand genre?” First I ask myself what a genre is, and a genre is a set of different things that are in the same category. Things happening in these websites can help someone better understand genre itself simply because of the little aspects of the genre they are providing such as conventions. The websites can also help people understand what genres are because that specific genre includes a specific idea so people will know a difference between music and science if they looking for something and need to pick a certain category.
